A lifelong resident of North Las Vegas, Jared Hardy grew up in the heart of the city during its most formative years. He attended Marion E. Cahlan Elementary and Jim Bridger Junior High School before graduating from Rancho High School. After graduation he attended college at Clark County Community College (College of Southern Nevada).
Working to make a positive difference in the lives of those around him is a high priority for Jared, the roots of which come from his family and a history of public service. Jared’s father Brent Hardy served on the North Las Vegas City Council. He was a small businessman and very active citizen of North Las Vegas. Jared’s brother Warren Hardy also served the people of Southern Nevada as a state assemblyman and later as a state senator.
In keeping with this tradition Jared is an active member of his church and various organizations at Legacy High School as well as in the community including:
• Various capacities within the Boy Scouts of America as an adult; he earned the rank of Eagle as a youth;
• Served on the NLV community development block grant committee;
• Continues to attend meetings and public forums in an effort to understand and influence the issues that are critical to the community.
Jared earned a Political Science degree magna cum laude from Weber State University in Northern Utah. He returned to North Las Vegas in 2007 to begin a career teaching Italian and U.S. history in the Clark County School District. In 2010 he received his M.A. in Education and is currently a member of the faculty at Legacy High School.
Jared has a strong and supportive family. He loves to spend as much time as possible with his wife Nichol and their four boys; Taylor (15), CJ (13), Nicholas (7), and Jacob (2 months). Activities they enjoy together include service projects, family time and mountain fishing.
Jared is eager to become a strong advocate for the City and Community.
